Guidelines and Qualifications For Grant Consideration
Rules For Applying
No Contributions are EVER given directly to individuals . Bo Paws It Forward sends funds directly to the treating veterinarian or veterinary behaviorist ONLY if your application is approved and treatment is scheduled. We make every effort to use our limited resources in the most responsible way.
Applicants must be able to provide basic care- future medical care, nourishing food and clean, fresh water
Dogs must live inside the home
Dogs must be spayed/neutered or there must be a medical reason that the animal cannot be altered. If medically approved and dog is unaltered at the time of application, the pet guardian must agree to spay/neuter at the time of services rendered or at a future time approved by the treating Veterinarian.
Applicant must have a source of income- that can include; SSI benefits, Unemployment, earned income or other approved sources. Applicant must provide all requested sources of income.
Applicant must apply for Care Credit prior to receiving any awards- proof of acceptance, denial and balance will be required.
Applicant agrees to allow Bo Paws It Forward to use information and photographs of the animal that benefits from awards in social media or promotional materials. Names can be changed (should the award recipient choose) to protect the identity of the pet guardian.
Applicant agrees to provide updates on the progress of the animal award recipient
While Bo Paws It Forward gives first priority to Mastiff and Pit Bull breeds, we do offer assistance to other breeds and at times to other species of pets. We reserve the right to deny any or award funds for any reason.
Priority is given to applicants in the Pickerington Ohio area and surrounding areas. However we reserve the right and consider grants for anyone in need within the United States.
We Do Not Fund:
Animals that are used for breeding, dog fighting or illegal activities
Animals that have not been seen by a Veterinarian
Animals that have not received a diagnosis
We strongly discourage declawing, ear cropping, tail docking and debarking surgeries. These procedures are not eligible for grant monies unless the treating veterinarian finds this medically necessary.
Horses- Unfortunately the care is too costly and we do not feel like it is a good use of our resources
We cannot reimburse any bills that have already been paid.
