 We recommend applying for multiple grants with various organizations as well as attempting to raise funds personally as no organization can cover all of the expenses and some organizations ( including Bo Paws It Forward) operates on donations and often manage lengthy wait lists. 

Credit Card or Payment Plan Programs

 Scratchpay-   https://scratchpay.com According to the Website, This is not a credit card and applying doesn’t affect your credit. This is a payment plan program and you can choose terms between 5 payments, 12 payments or 24 payments.  Check with your veterinarian to see if they accept this program. 

CareCredit – www.carecredit.com/veterinarianmed Apply online or call 866-893-7864 Care Credit is a credit card with no interest terms within promotional time frames and it Is accepted at many veterinary offices and Veterinary Emergency offices. Contact your Veterinarian to see if they accept Care Credit. 

Pet Financial Aid Programs

Vet Fund- https://vet-fund.org The mission of Vet Fund is to provide financial support for the treatment of pets to keep the family together. 

Brown Dog Foundation – www.browndogfoundation.org – The Brown Dog foundation provides financial assistance to pet guardians facing euthanasia or surrender due to low income or temporary hardship. Apply online.

The Mosby Foundation – www.themosbyfoundation.org – The Mosby Foundation specializes in providing funds for life saving emergencies for pet guardians that prove limited income, low income or hardship. All animals must be spayed or neutered prior to receiving assistance. E-mail info@themosbyfoundation.org to apply for a grant. 

The Pet Fund – www.thepetfund.com– The Pet Fund provides financial assistance to pet guardians struggling with temporary hardship, limited or low income. (They cannot fund emergencies) Applicants must contact The Pet Fund through email at info@thepetfund.com prior to applying. They will contact you with information about the wait list, funds available or if you qualify for their programs. 

Rose’s Fund for Animals – www.rosesfund.org or 877-505-4234 – Pet Guardians and Good Samaritans can apply for financial assistance  with Rose’s Fund for Animals who have an animal with a good prognosis for a quality life but are facing a financial hardship. The animal must have a life-threatening illness, injury or condition. 

Shakespeare Animal Fund – www.shakespeareanimalfund.org or 775-342-7040 – The Shakespeare Animal Fund offers one time grants to pet guardians on a fixed income or with annual incomes below $35,000. Exceptions are considered based on circumstances.

Frankie’s Friends - www.frankiesfriends.com/ - Frankie’s Friends focus on injured or serious illness that required special care.

Paws 4 a Cure -www.paws4acure.org/  Offers aid for animals in need of Veterinary care and they boast that they cover situations from” ear infections to cancer” 

Pets Of The Homeless- https://www.petsofthehomeless.org/get-help/how-we-can-help/ - Provides basic Veterinary care, food and other resources for the pets of the homeless population. 


Red Rover – www.redrover.org or 916-429-2457  Red Rover offers financial aid for animals in need of veterinary care and victims of disaster displacement or cruelty. 

American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Helping Pets Fund – www.aahahelpingpets.org/home

Angels 4 Animals – www.angels4animals.org – Angels 4 Animals provides veterinary services including basic care such as spay and neuter and cremation services. Canfield Ohio 

Help-A-Pet – www.help-a-pet.org – They focus on serving an over-looked population of pet guardians including the elderly, working poor and those suffering with an illness or with a disability. 

United Animal Nations – www.uan.org/lifeline - LifeLine  provides aid to animals that are homeless or recently rescued that required immediate, emergency vet care. 

Focus On Cancer

Canine Cancer Awareness – www.caninecancerawareness.org – Canine Cancer Awareness is dedicated to providing assistance to pet guardians with dogs diagnosed with cancer.

Riedel & Cody Fund – www.riedelcodyl.org – Riedel & Cody Fund focuses on helping pets with cancer 

Cody’s Club– www.dogdoggiedog.com/pwcAcodysclub.htm or 614-620-2476 - Radiation treatments 

Dog & Cat Cancer Fund – www.dccfund.org – The Dog & Cat Cancer Fund exclusively awards funds for animals diagnosed with malignant cancer. There must be a definitive diagnosis. Animals over 15 years are not eligible and they cannot fund exploratory surgery, emergency services or diagnostic costs. They may not fund cases of recurrent cancers. Apply online.

 

The Magic Bullet Fund (MBF) – www.themagicbulletfund.org – MBF provides financial assistance for canine cancer treatment. Once you are accepted, the foundation will work to raise funds with the goal of closing the gap between what the pet guardian can contribute and perhaps the discount the Vet may offer. They need time to raise the funds so this is not an emergency program. Visit their page for more information and application.
